The dates and location for the following previously advertised films (Reporter, 2010–11, pp. 62–3) have changed. They will be shown in Room B3, Faculty of Asian and Middle Eastern Studies, Sidgwick Avenue, on Wednesdays at 1.15 p.m. All films are in Hebrew with English subtitles. All are welcome.

Philosophical Society

HONORARY FELLOWS PRIZE LECTURE, 2010

The Cambridge Philosophical Society’s Honorary Fellows Prize Lecture for 2010 will be given by Professor Sir John Gurdon FRS on Wednesday, 3 November 2010, at 5.30 p.m. in the Lady Mitchell Hall, Sidgwick Site. All who are interested are invited.

A complimentary drinks reception for all attendees will take place after the lecture in the Clough Hall, Newnham College.

ANNUAL GENERAL MEETING

The Annual General Meeting of the Society was held on Monday, 18 October 2010, in the Arts School, Bene’t Street at 4.30 p.m.

Professor A. G. Smith, President, was in the Chair.

1. The Treasurer presented the audited accounts for the period January to December 2009, which were adopted.

2. The following Officers and Members of Council were elected for the year 2011:

President: Professor A. G. Smith

President Elect: Professor J. D. Mollon

Treasurer: Dr G. A. Reid

Vice-Presidents: Professor A. W. Cuthbert, Professor C. L.-H. Huang, Professor J. M. E. Hyland

Secretaries: Dr C. Y. Barlow (Physical), Professor C. J. Howe (Biological), Professor P. M. H. Wilson (Mathematical)

Ordinary Members of Council who continue: Professor H. Ahmed, Dr A. F. Blackwell, Professor R. Cameron, Professor T. M. Cox, Professor D. Frenkel, Professor A. Howie, Dr D. B. Norman, Professor T. J. Pedley, Dr D. Summers, Dr D. I. Wilson, Professor J. Woodhouse.

3. Nineteen Fellows were elected and one Fellow was re-elected. It was reported that since the last Annual General Meeting, three Fellows had died and two had resigned, and one hundred and eighty-two were presumed resigned.

4. Messrs Peters Elworthy and Moore were appointed to act as Auditors for the year 2011.
