Simons Postdoctoral Fellowship in the Department of Pure Mathematics and Mathematical Statistics

Limit of tenure: three years.

Applications are invited for a Simons Foundation Postdoctoral Fellowship to be held in the Department of Pure Mathematics and Mathematical Statistics and to commence on 1 September 2011 or otherwise by agreement.

The starting salary will be £37,184 a year, which will be increased by 3% each year. In addition, there will be a fund of £4,212 a year for research purposes at the discretion of the Fellow.

The Fellow will be free to pursue independent research associated with the research activities of the Department. It is a requirement that the Fellow teaches and examines one graduate-level lecture course in each year of the appointment.

To be eligible, applicants must have received their Ph.D. Degree during the academic year immediately preceding that in which the Fellowship would begin. There is no further restriction, on nationality or on any other basis. Once awarded, the Fellowship is non-transferable.
