Applications are invited for appointment to a College Lectureship in Physics together with a Fellowship, tenable for five years in the first instance. The successful applicant will be expected to teach physics and direct studies in the physical science subjects of the Natural Science Tripos. Consideration will be given to candidates with interests in teaching and research in the fields of experimental or theoretical physics and whose research programme is central to that of the Department of Physics, the Cavendish Laboratory.

The Lectureship will require six hours a week of College teaching (for 20 weeks a year) and will be tenable only by a person holding another salaried academic appointment in Cambridge. The stipend (payable in addition to the University stipend or other academic salary) will be in the range £8,390 to £11,120 a year. The point on the scale will be determined according to experience and qualifications.

Applicants should submit a covering letter, a curriculum vitae, including a statement of qualifications, publications, and teaching experience; and should also ensure that three referees have been asked to submit references before the closing date of Monday, 8 November 2010. Applications and references should be sent to the Fellows’ Secretary at Trinity College, preferably by email to fellows.sec@trin.cam.ac.uk.
