Graces

Graces submitted to the Regent House on 15 April 2015

The Council submits the following Graces to the Regent House. These Graces, unless they are withdrawn or a ballot is requested in accordance with the regulations for Graces of the Regent House (Statutes and Ordinances, p. 111), will be deemed to have been approved at 4 p.m. on Friday, 24 April 2015.

1. That, on the nomination of St Edmund’s College, Gordon Chesterman, M.A., of that College, be appointed a Pro‑Proctor for the academical year 2015–16.

2. That, on the nomination of Trinity Hall, Cristiano Andrea Ristuccia, of that College, be appointed a Pro‑Proctor for the academical year 2015–16.

3. That Regulation 3 of the regulations for the Election of Members of the Board of Scrutiny (Statutes and Ordinances, p. 121) be amended so as to read:

3. If at any election insufficient nominations are received to fill the vacant places either in class (c)(i) or in class (c)(ii), the Council shall appoint as many members as may be necessary or shall ask the Vice-Chancellor to arrange a further election.

4. That Regulation 7 of the regulations for the Local Examinations Syndicate (Statutes and Ordinances, p. 134) be rescinded and the remaining regulations renumbered.1

  • 1Regulation 7 recorded the establishment of the office of Principal Assistant Secretary, with duties determined by the Syndicate, and noted that it would be suppressed when it next fell vacant. The office is now vacant and therefore it is being proposed that the regulation be rescinded.


Graces submitted to the Senate on 15 April 2015

The Council submits the following Graces to the Senate. These Graces, unless they are withdrawn or a ballot is requested in accordance with the regulations for Graces of the Senate (Statutes and Ordinances, p. 115), will be deemed to have been approved at 4 p.m. on Friday, 24 April 2015.

1. That Professor Alison Caroline Bashford, JE, be appointed a member of the Nomination Board to serve with immediate effect until 31 December 2015.1

2. That Professor Henrietta Miriam Ottoline Leyser, CL, be appointed a member of the Nomination Board to serve with immediate effect until 31 December 2015.1

3. That Sir Robert Keith O’Nions be appointed a member of the Nomination Board to serve with immediate effect until 31 December 2015.1

4. That Dame Fiona Claire Reynolds, EM, be appointed a member of the Nomination Board to serve with immediate effect until 31 December 2015.1

5. That Professor Dame Athene Margaret Donald, CHU, be appointed a member of the Nomination Board to serve with immediate effect until 31 December 2018.1

6. That Professor Sir Malcolm John Grant, CL, be appointed a member of the Nomination Board to serve with immediate effect until 31 December 2018.1

7. That Professor Lord (Nicholas Herbert) Stern of Brentford, PET, be appointed a member of the Nomination Board to serve with immediate effect until 31 December 2018.1

8. That Dame Barbara Mary Stocking, MUR, be appointed a member of the Nomination Board to serve with immediate effect until 31 December 2018.1
