Graces

Graces submitted to the Regent House on 20 October 2010

The Council submits the following Graces to the Regent House. These Graces, other than any which is withdrawn or for which a ballot is requested in accordance with the regulations for Graces of the Regent House (Statutes and Ordinances, p. 107), will be deemed to have been approved at 4 p.m. on Friday, 29 October 2010.

1. That the recommendations in paragraph 10 of the Report of the Council, dated 28 June 2010, on the expansion of Kettle’s Yard (Reporter, 2009–10, p. 1051) be approved.

2. That the recommendations in paragraph 10 of the Report of the Council, dated 28 June 2010, on the construction of an extension to the Whittle Laboratory at West Cambridge (Reporter, 2009–10, p. 1053) be approved.

3. That the recommendations in paragraph 5 of the Report of the General Board, dated 13 July 2010, on the establishment of a Professorship of Cognitive Developmental Neuroscience (Reporter, 2009–10, p. 1128) be approved.

4. That on the recommendation of the Council and the Nominating Committee, Mr Dominic Casserley, of Jesus College, be appointed a member of the Council in class (e) for four years from 1 January 2011.1

5. That on the recommendation of the Council and the Nominating Committee, Mr John Shakeshaft, of Trinity College, be appointed a member of the Council in class (e) for four years from 1 January 2011.1

The two vacancies arise from the coming retirement from the Council, after six years distinguished service, of Mr Nigel Brown OBE (Chairman of the Audit Committee) and Lord Simon (Deputy Chairman of the Council). The continuing external members (who were appointed from 1 January 2009 for four years) are Dr Vanessa Lawrence CB and Dame Mavis McDonald.
