Office of Director of Positron Emission Tomography (PET) Scientific Services and the Professorship of Molecular Imaging Chemistry

27 November 2019

With immediate effect

The General Board, on the recommendation of the School of Clinical Medicine, has approved the abolition of the office of Director of PET Scientific Services and removal of the linkage between that office and the Professorship of Molecular Imaging Chemistry which, exceptionally, made the latter appointment co-terminous with holding the former office. The Directorship was established by Grace 7 of 15 June 1994 as part of developments to support the creation of what is now the Wolfson Brain Imaging Centre. The School’s recommendation to abolish the Directorship follows consultation with the holder of the Professorship of Molecular Imaging Chemistry, who supports this change, and recognises the evolved arrangements for the management of PET scientific services. The General Board has therefore approved the consequential removal of the General Board Regulations concerning the Directorship from the regulations for the Faculty of Clinical Medicine (Statutes and Ordinances, p. 636).
