The proposed change in name reflects more closely the field in which the Faculty Board of Economics wishes to advertise the Professorship, which will become vacant on the retirement of Professor W. A. Brown on 30 September 2012, in the light of developments in the study of labour and industrial relations, and the current strategic priorities of the Faculty.
