Wellcome Trust/Cancer Research UK Gurdon Institute: Notice

(Statutes and Ordinances, p. 617)

The General Board have agreed, on the recommendation of the Committee of Management of the Wellcome Trust/Cancer Research UK Gurdon Institute, that the titles of the offices of Chairman and Vice-Chairman of the Institute be amended to Director and Deputy Director of the Institute, respectively. The change reflects more appropriately the current duties and responsibilities of the offices.

The Council has agreed to submit a Grace (Grace 1, p. 492) to amend the regulations for the School of the Biological Sciences (Statutes and Ordinances, p. 557) and the Oliver Gatty Fund (Statutes and Ordinances, p. 790) accordingly.

Leave of Absence under Statute D, II, 6(b): Notice

The General Board give notice that the allocation of savings accruing from the grant of leave without stipend, set out in their Notice on p. 655 of Statutes and Ordinances, has been amended to reflect the varying practices across the Schools so as to read:

9. The allocation of savings that accrue from the grant of leave without stipend (after deductions have been made, where appropriate, for pension or National Insurance contributions and for certain central administrative costs) will be at the discretion of the Council of the relevant School. If the Council of the School so determines, savings may be allocated to, or accrue in the stipend account of, the Faculty, Department or other institution concerned. The cost of substitute teaching or full-time replacement required will be met from these savings.
