This ringing took place during the visit by Her Majesty the Queen to the University of Cambridge to mark its 800th Anniversary Year. The ringing heralded Her Majesty’s entrance to the Senate-House to receive the Loyal Address of the Chancellor, His Royal Highness The Duke of Edinburgh, KG, KT, the Masters and the Scholars of the University, and also marked Her Majesty’s designation by Royal Warrant of the Regius Professorship of Botany in the University.
