Elections

The following elections have been made:

Professor Daniel Baumann, B.A., M.A.St., ED, Ph.D., Princeton University, Professor of Theoretical Cosmology, University of Amsterdam and Chee-Chun Leung Professor of Cosmology, National Taiwan University, elected Stephen W. Hawking Professor of Cosmology with effect from 1 June 2026.

Professor Michaela Benson, B.A., Ph.D., University of Hull, Professor in Public Sociology, Lancaster University, elected Professor of Sociology (1985) with effect from 1 October 2026.

Professor Miranda C. N. Cheng, B.Sc., National Taiwan University, M.Sc., Utrecht University, Ph.D., University of Amsterdam, Associate Professor, University of Amsterdam and Research Fellow, Academia Sinica Taiwan, elected Professor of Data Intensive Mathematical Physics with effect from 1 September 2026.
