Form and conduct of examinations

Notices by Faculty Boards, or other bodies concerned, of changes to the form and conduct of certain examinations to be held in 2018–19, by comparison with those examinations in 2017–18, are published below. Complete details of the form and conduct of all examinations are available from the Faculties or Departments concerned.

Asian and Middle Eastern Studies Tripos, 2018–19: Correction

The Notice published on 11 July 2018 (Reporter, 6514, 2017–18, p. 811) contained several errors, which are now corrected below.

J.O. Japanese oral

It should be noted that, under Regulation 22(b)(iv) and (c)(iii), the Japanese oral examination (J.O.) is compulsory (and not an optional paper under Regulation 8). The form of the examination as outlined in the previous notice is correct.

C.18 China in a global WWII

This paper should also have been included in the list of papers available for Japanese Studies students.

C.21 China in the international order

This paper should have been listed as Paper POL21 of the Human, Social, and Political Sciences Tripos rather than POL19.

Classical Tripos, Part II, 2019–20

The Faculty Board of Classics gives notice that, with effect from the examination to be held in 2019–20, the form of the examination for the following papers for Part II of the Classical Tripos will be as specified below:

Paper C3 Slavery in the Greek and Roman worlds

The examination for this paper will consist of a three-hour written paper which will be undivided. Candidates will be required to attempt three questions.

Paper D4 Empire’s legacy: the transformations of Roman Italy, 350bc to ad300

The examination for this paper will consist of a three-hour written paper which will be undivided. Candidates will be required to attempt three questions.
