The Council submits the following Grace to the Regent House. This Grace, unless it is withdrawn or a ballot is requested in accordance with the regulations for Graces of the Regent House (Statutes and Ordinances, p. 111), will be deemed to have been approved at 4 p.m. on Friday, 5 June 2015.
1. That Regulation 11(e) of the General Regulations for Admission as a Graduate Student (Statutes and Ordinances, p. 446) be amended so as to read:1
(e) A person employed in a University institution at least 40% full-time who has been accepted for admission as a Graduate Student, and who is registered as a candidate for the Ph.D., Ed.D., M.Litt., or M.Sc. Degree, or for an M.Phil. Degree examined by thesis and oral only, or for a Certificate of Postgraduate Studies, shall pay a University Composition Fee of one third of the Home and EU postgraduate Fee for any term in which that person continues in employment by the University.
1The Board of Graduate Studies is proposing this change to extend the entitlement to apply for a reduction in the University Composition Fee to those students registered for the Ed.D. Degree who are also employed in a University institution.
