The Council submits the following Grace to the Regent House. This Grace, unless it is withdrawn or a ballot is requested in accordance with the regulations for Graces of the Regent House (Statutes and Ordinances, p. 103), will be deemed to have been approved at 4 p.m. on Friday, 20 June 2014.
1. That, on the recommendation of the General Board, the Professorship of Modern Languages (1966) be suppressed with effect from 1 October 2014.1
1Statutes and Ordinances, p. 703. The Professorship has been vacant since 2007 and was discontinued until 1 October 2014 by Grace 4 of 7 July 2010. The Faculty Board of Modern and Medieval Languages have recommended the suppression of the Professorship in light of the Faculty’s research priorities and current teaching needs.
