Wolfson College

COMMUNICATIONS AND FUNDRAISING ADMINISTRATOR

An exciting opportunity exists to join a vibrant and fast-growing department in one of Cambridge University’s most international and egalitarian Colleges.

The purpose of the role is to support the communications and fundraising activities in the College’s busy Alumni and Development department, working to the strategy set by the Development Director. The College’s newsletter and annual record are in the process of being redesigned, and the successful candidate will be involved in the production of these publications. In addition, the post-holder will make funding applications to grant-making bodies, undertake prospect research, and be responsible for improving and maintaining the College’s online and new media presence.

The role is varied and will be mostly office-based, although some evening and weekend work may be required, for which time off in lieu will be given. Training will be given in order to develop the candidate’s skill base. The post-holder will work alongside the Alumni and Development Administrator. Whilst each member of the team has specific responsibilities, a considerable amount of teamwork is required; and flexibility in helping with the work of others when necessary is an essential aspect of the department’s character and functioning.

Educated to degree level or equivalent, the successful candidate will have excellent oral and written communication skills, meticulous attention to detail, and a proven ability to work as part of a busy team.

This is a new post in a department established in July 2008, with a starting salary in the range of £22,269 to £24,151, depending on experience.

Full details, including how to apply, are available at http://www.wolfson.cam.ac.uk/jobs. The deadline for applications is midday on Friday, 8 April.
