With immediate effect

By amending the title for Paper O5 as follows:

from Metaphysics and philosophy of mind to Metaphysics and epistemology (Paper 1 of Part Ib of the Philosophy Tripos)

The Faculty Board of Classics are satisfied that no candidate’s preparation for the examination in 2011 will be affected by this change.

Philosophy Tripos, Part Ib

With immediate effect

Regulation 5(a).

The title of Paper 1 in Part Ib has been changed as follows:

from Metaphysics and philosophy of mind to Metaphysics and epistemology

The Faculty Board of Philosophy have confirmed that no candidate’s preparation for the examination in 2011 will be affected by this change.

Examination in Politics for the degree of Master of Philosophy

(Statutes and Ordinances, p. 526)

With effect from 1 October 2010

The regulations have been amended (i) to clarify what is included in the word-count for the thesis and (ii) to replace one field of study.

Regulation 1.

By amending sub-paragraph (a) so as to read:

(a)a thesis of between 15,000 and 20,000 words in length, including footnotes, tables, appendices but excluding bibliography, on a topic approved by the Degree Committee for the Faculty of Politics, Psychology, Sociology, and International Studies;

By amending the fourth field of study in sub-paragraph (d) so as to read:

4. North–South politics: the case of Sudan

Examination in Social Anthropological Research for the degree of Master of Philosophy

With effect from 1 October 2010

The regulations have been amended to remove the reference to a research proposal portfolio.

Regulation 1(c).

By amending the regulation so as to read:

(c)a thesis of not more than 15,000 words in length, including footnotes, but excluding tables, appendices, and bibliography, on a subject approved by the Degree Committee.

Examination in Social Anthropology for the degree of Master of Research

(Statutes and Ordinances, p. 534)

With effect from 1 October 2011

The regulations have been amended to remove the reference to a research proposal portfolio.

Postgraduate Diploma in Training, Learning, and Development

With immediate effect

The General Board have approved a recommendation from the Strategic Committee for the Institute of Continuing Education that the Postgraduate Diploma in Training, Learning, and Development be suspended until further notice.
