Graces submitted to the Regent House on 17 May 2000

The Council submit the following Graces to the Regent House. These Graces, other than any which is withdrawn or for which a ballot is requested in accordance with the regulations for Graces of the Regent House (Statutes and Ordinances, p. 113) will be deemed to have been approved at 4 p.m. on Friday, 26 May 2000.

1. That the regulations for University Composition Fees, as amended by Grace 1 of 22 March 2000, be further amended, with effect from 1 October 2000, as follows:1

2. That the John Humphrey Plummer Professorship to be held by Professor J. C. Smith from 1 October 2001 be entitled the John Humphrey Plummer Professorship of Developmental Biology and be assigned to the Department of Zoology.4

3. That the recommendations contained in paragraph 4 of the Report, dated 9 February 2000, of the General Board on the establishment of a Committee of Management for the Natural Sciences Tripos (Reporter, p. 500) be approved, with effect from 1 October 2000.5

4. That the recommendations contained in paragraph 5 of the Report, dated 8 March 2000, of the General Board on the establishment of a East Asia Institute in the Faculty of Oriental Studies (Reporter, p. 577) be approved.6

5. That, on the nomination of Selwyn College, David John Chivers, M.A., Ph.D., of that College, be appointed a Pro-Proctor for the academical year 2000-01.

6. That, on the nomination of Christ's College, Vedia Emel Izzet, Ph.D., of that College, be appointed a Pro-Proctor for the academical year 2000-01.

7. That, on the nomination of the Vice-Chancellor and the Proctors designate, Caroline Ann Tuke Malone, M.A., Ph.D., of New Hall, and Simon Anthony Turner Redfern, M.A., Ph.D., of Jesus College, be appointed additional Pro-Proctors for the academical year 2000-01.
