Peter Newman Brooks, M.A., Ph.D., Life Fellow and formerly Tutor and Admissions Tutor, Fellows’ Steward and Director of Studies in Theology and Religious Studies of Robinson College, former Fellow of Downing College, member of Trinity College and of Peterhouse, sometime University Lecturer in the Faculty of Divinity and onetime Proctor (Junior), died on 20 February 2025, aged 94 years.

Clive Wilmer, M.A., Emeritus Fellow of Sidney Sussex College, former Bye-Fellow of Fitzwilliam College, member of King’s College, former Master of the Guild of St George, Ady Memorial and Pro Cultura Hungarica Medallist, Pannonius Prizewinner, poet and critic, died on 13 March 2025, aged 80 years.

Elizabeth Patricia Story, M.A., Life Fellow and former Vice-President, Senior Tutor and Tutor for Admissions of Hughes Hall, onetime Director of Studies in Education of St Catharine’s College, Girton College and Lucy Cavendish College, formerly University Lecturer in the Faculty of Education, sometime Director of the Cambridge School Classics Project, died on 25 March 2025, aged 93 years.

Henry Richards Currey Dawson, Fellow Commoner of Sidney Sussex College, died on 30 March 2025, aged 82 years.

Professor Jeremiah Paul Ostriker, M.A., ForMemRS, FRAS, former Fellow of Clare College, sometime Plumian Professor of Astronomy and Experimental Philosophy, Royal Astronomical Society Gold Medallist and Gruber Cosmology Prizewinner, died on 6 April 2025, aged 87 years.

Jorge Mario Pedro Vargas Llosa (1st Marquess of Vargas Llosa), (Hon.) Litt.D., Honorary and former Overseas Fellow of Churchill College, sometime Simón Bolívar Professor of Latin American Studies, Nobel Laureate, writer, died on 13 April 2025, aged 89 years.
