Graces

Graces submitted to the Regent House on 31 July 2013

The Council submits the following Graces to the Regent House. These Graces, unless they are withdrawn or a ballot is requested in accordance with the regulations for Graces of the Regent House (Statutes and Ordinances, p. 107), will be deemed to have been approved at 4 p.m. on Friday, 9 August 2013.

1. That, notwithstanding Regulation 2 for the election of members of the Board of Scrutiny (Statutes and Ordinances, p. 117), an election to fill a vacant place for a member in class (c)(i) shall be held in accordance with the Council's Notice dated 22 July 2013 (p. 768).

2. That the reference to the Certificate of Advanced Study in Mathematics be removed from the Schedule to regulations for the Review Procedure for Examinations for Undergraduate and Certain Other Qualifications (Statutes and Ordinances, p. 244).1

3. That Regulation 2 for Sir Robert Rede's Lectureship (Statutes and Ordinances, p. 916) be amended so as to read:2

2. The Lecturer shall deliver one lecture in Full Term within one year of appointment, the time and place of delivery being fixed on each occasion by the Vice- Chancellor.

4. That an Dr Amanda Perreau-Saussine de Ezcurra Law Prize Fund be established in the University, to be governed by the following regulations:3

Dr Amanda Perreau-Saussine de Ezcurra Law Prize Fund

1. Income from the Dr Amanda Perreau-Saussine de Ezcurra Law Prize Fund shall be used to provide an Amanda Perreau-Saussine de Ezcurra Prize for the History and Philosophy of International Law.

2. The Managers of the Fund shall be the Faculty Board of Law.

3. Before the beginning of the Easter Term in each year, the Faculty Board of Law shall announce which of the papers prescribed for the LLM Examination in that year are deemed to be within the scope of the Prize, taking due account of the syllabi of the prescribed papers.

4. The Prize shall be awarded annually by the Examiners for the LL.M. Examination for outstanding performance in:

(a)

one or more of the papers announced under Regulation 3;

or

(b)

an LL.M. thesis submitted in lieu of a written examination in any LL.M. paper, or for a seminar course (regardless of the announcement made under Regulation 3), so long as the Examiners consider that the thesis falls within the scope of the Prize's title;

or

(c)

a combination of (a) and (b).

5. The value of the Prize shall be determined by the Managers.

6. Any unexpended income may at the discretion of the Managers be added to the capital of the Fund or accumulated for use as income in any one or more subsequent years or applied in support of the Squire Law Library.

5. That, with effect from the examinations in 2015, the regulations for entries and lists of candidates for examinations (Statutes and Ordinances, p. 234) be amended as follows:4

Regulation 11.

By adding the following to the list of examinations:

Medical and Veterinary Sciences Tripos, Parts Ia and Ib (except Ib Lent Term Examination in Head and Neck Anatomy; from these entries, entries for the various Easter Term Second M.B. and Second Veterinary M.B. Examinations are created)

Regulation 13.

By adding the following to the list of examinations:

Medical and Veterinary Sciences Tripos, Part Ib (Lent Term examination)

6. That, with effect from the examinations in 2015, the regulations for dates of examinations and publication of class-lists (Statutes and Ordinances, p. 236) be amended as follows:5

By adding the following to the list of examinations, together with the associated footnote:

Medical and Veterinary Tripos, Part Ib (Lent Term examination)1

The last day of Full Lent Term

1 Examination in Head and Neck Anatomy only.
