Regulations for Examinations

The General Board give notice that, on the recommendation of the Faculty Board or other authority concerned, the regulations for certain University examinations have been amended as follows:

Land Economy Tripos, Parts Ib and II

(Statutes and Ordinances, p. 340)

With immediate effect

The regulations for the Land Economy Tripos were amended with effect from 1 October 2010 (Reporter, 2009–10, p. 589) inter alia to reorganize the grouping of papers. As a result of the regrouping, the choices of the current candidates have been restricted. Temporary Regulations have accordingly been introduced:

(i)to allow candidates for the examination in Part Ib of the Land Economy Tripos in 2011 to choose papers under the regulations current in the academical year 2009–10;

(ii)to allow candidates for the examination in Part II of the Land Economy Tripos in 2011 and in 2012 to choose papers under the regulations current in the academical year 2009–10.

Temporary Regulations

19. (i) Candidates for the examination for Part Ib of the Tripos in 2011 shall offer the combination1 of papers as set out under temporary Regulation 20 for the examination, which was allowable under the regulations current in the academical year 2009–10.

(ii) Candidates for the examination in Part II of the Land Economy Tripos in 2011 and in 2012 shall offer the combination1 of papers as set out under temporary Regulation 20 for the examination, which was allowable under the regulations current in the academical year 2009–10.

20. The papers for the Land Economy Tripos examination for Part Ib in 2011 and for Part II in 2011 and 2012, which shall be divided into Groups I–V, shall be as follows:

Paper 1B. Economics II

Paper 2. The public sector: institutional and legal frameworks

Paper 3. Quantitative methods for land economy

Paper 4. Land economy, development, and sustainability

Group II

Paper 5. Environmental economics and law

Paper 7. Regional economics and policy

Group III

Paper 8. The law of real property: principles, policy, and economic implications

Paper 9. Private law

Group IV

Paper 10. The built environment

Paper 11. Land and urban economics

Paper 12. Law and economics

Group V

Paper 13. Landlord and tenant law

Paper 14. Planning policy and practice

Paper 15. Advanced techniques in finance and investment for real estate

Paper 16. Land, food, and ecosystem services

Politics, Psychology, and Sociology Tripos, Part I

(Statutes and Ordinances, p. 413)

With immediate effect

The regulations for Part I of the Politics, Psychology, and Sociology Tripos (previously known as the Social and Political Sciences Tripos) have been amended so as to exchange the titles of Papers 2 and 3 and to ensure uniformity between the Triposes.

Regulation 12.

Section A

By amending the titles of Papers 2 and 3 so as to read:

Paper 2. Introduction to sociology: modern societies I (also serves as Paper 4B of Part I of the Archaeological and Anthropological Tripos and as Paper 5 of Part IIa of the Economics Tripos).

Paper 3. Introduction to psychology (also serves as Paper 4D of Part I of the Archaeological and Anthropological Tripos and as Paper 1 in Part Ia of the Computer Science Tripos).

The cross-references to these papers in Part I of the Archaeological and Anthropological Tripos (Statutes and Ordinances, p. 259), Part Ia of the Computer Science Tripos (Statutes and Ordinances, p. 298), and Part IIa of the Economics Tripos (Statutes and Ordinances, p. 301) have been amended accordingly.
