Clare College

JUNIOR RESEARCH FELLOWSHIPS, 2011–14

Applications are invited for three Junior Research Fellowships, one in Sciences and two in Humanities, tenable for three years from 1 October 2011.

These Fellowships are intended for researchers early in their careers. Successful candidates are expected to be either graduate students, probably in the latter stages of their research leading to a Ph.D. Degree, or post-doctoral researchers who have recently been awarded their Ph.D. Degree. They will have an excellent record of research in their chosen subject and the potential to pursue that research at the highest level. Candidates who have undertaken more than four years of full-time research in Humanities or five years in Sciences are unlikely to be considered.

Remuneration for a Junior Research Fellow is set by reference to the Cambridge University general stipend and salary scale with a starting point of £27,183. Research Fellows may also join the University Superannuation Scheme.

The application process is online. Further particulars of the Fellowships and application details may be obtained from the College website (http://www.clare.cam.ac.uk/jrf/). All applications, including two referees’ reports, must be received by 5 p.m. on Monday, 13 December 2010. Short-listed candidates will be asked to submit two copies of written work up to a maximum of 20,000 words by Friday, 4 February 2011. Candidates will not be called for interview.
