The University offers a large number of lectures, seminars and other events, many of which are free of charge, to members of the University and others who are interested. McDonald Institute for Archaeological Research

Thirty-first McDonald Annual Lecture: The political economy of precolonial African states – metals, trinkets, land, etc., etc., by Professor Shadreck Chirikure, University of Cape Town and University of Oxford, at 5 p.m. on 13 November 2019 in the Biffen Lecture Theatre, Downing site, followed by a reception at the McDonald Institute.
