Sir Michael Francis Atiyah, OM, M.A., Ph.D., (Hon.)Sc.D., FRS, FRSE, FREng, F.Med.Sci., Fellow and former Master of Trinity College, Honorary Fellow of Pembroke College and Darwin College, sometime Director of the Isaac Newton Institute for Mathematical Sciences, former President of the Royal Societies of London and Edinburgh, Fields Medallist, died on 11 January 2019, aged 89 years.
