Election to the Nominating Committee for External Members of the Council

5 February 2016

The Vice-Chancellor announces that he has received the following nomination for election to the Nominating Committee for External Members of the Council in class (c) (a member elected by the Regent House from among those who at the time of election are current members of Council in classes (a), (b), and (c); see Reporter, 6411, 2015–16, p. 325), and that it has been certified to him that the candidate has consented to be so nominated:

Dr Ruth Lisa Chadwick Charles, N, nominated by Dr J. M. Wilkins and Dr D. A. Rasheed, CHU.

No other candidates having been nominated, the Vice-Chancellor declares that Dr Charles is elected to the Nominating Committee in class (c) with immediate effect until 30 September 2017. As no candidates have been nominated for the remaining vacancy in class (d), a further election shall be announced.

Election to the Board of Scrutiny

5 February 2016

No candidate has been nominated for election to the Board of Scrutiny in class (c)(ii) (a member of the Regent House; see Reporter, 6411, 2015–16, p. 325).

Regulation 2 for the election of members of the Board of Scrutiny (Statutes and Ordinances, p. 116) provides that, if at an election insufficient nominations are received to fill all the places either in class (c)(i) or in class (c)(ii), the Council shall appoint as many members as may be necessary or shall ask the Vice-Chancellor to arrange a further election. The Council will therefore be asked whether it wishes to make an appointment to the vacancy or to re-open nominations.
