The Vice-Chancellor gives notice that the Discussion announced for Tuesday, 8 November 2011, will not take place as there are no Reports ready for discussion.
The Council has submitted its response to the BIS Technical Consultation, ‘a new, fit-for-purpose regulatory framework for the Higher Education sector’ (see http://discuss.bis.gov.uk/hereform/technical-consultation/), on details of the regulatory system for the future of higher education, and this is available on the Discussion Forum web page (https://forum.cam.ac.uk/viewtopic.php?f=27&t=6389).
The response refers to the earlier response to the White Paper which has already been made available on the Forum at https://forum.cam.ac.uk/viewtopic.php?f=27&t=6133.
The Council has authorized the closure of the University Offices from 5 p.m. on Friday, 23 December 2011, until 8 a.m. on Tuesday, 3 January 2012. The University Messenger Service will not operate during the period of closure.
