UNIVERSITY OFFICES

Senior Technical Officer (School Facilities Officer) in the School of Clinical Medecine

Applications are invited for the new post of School Facilities Officer (in the grade of Senior Technical Officer). The post is available immediately. The post has been created in the School to enhance the management of the School's estates, buildings, and sites, together with certain procurement functions and oversight of the management of the Workshops.

The Officer will support the Secretary of the School and Heads of Department and those designated as equivalent for this purpose. He or she will work closely with the School Safety Officer, departmental administrators, and University and NHS Estates personnel. The person appointed will have a relevant first degree or equivalent and experience in a biomedical research or clinical environment. A relevant estates/facilities professional qualification or membership of professional body is desirable.

The salary is within the range £23,296 to £33,679 a year (under review) and the appointment is subject to a probationary period of nine months.

Assistant Registrary (Board of Graduate Studies)

Applications are invited for the full-time post of Assistant Registrary in the Board of Graduate Studies, to take up appointment as soon as possible. The post-holder will be responsible for the administration of all aspects of financial support for graduate students in the University, including the Overseas and Domestic Research Studentship competitions. He or she will be the principal link between the Board and the Cambridge Trusts, the Research Councils, the British Council, and other funding bodies. He or she will develop a web-based information service for graduate students and offer advice to College Graduate Tutors on financial matters. He or she will also be responsible for the management of the Board's Finance and Studentships Team and will have oversight of the Board's annual budget.

Candidates should be graduates or equivalent, with relevant administrative experience, preferably in graduate funding matters, should be numerate and computer literate, and should have an interest in higher education.

The salary is currently in the range of £23,296 to £35,950 a year.
