Cambridge University Botanic Garden Adult courses online 2020

Fri 21 August 2020

Cambridge University Botanic Garden

Our countryside is filled with mystery, glimpses of a rural past behind names we have lost.

Bouncing Bets and Bachelors Buttons, Stinking Bob and Ragged Robin stir folk memories of a time when plants were the focus of life rather than a backdrop.
This course explores the meaning and origin behind some of the names and helps you to know your Cow Mumble from your Sheep’s Parsley and understand why Love in Idleness inspired A Midsummer Night’s Dream.

Cost: £20
