Discovery Talk: The unnatural nature of natural history museums
13.15-13.45
Natural history museums are magical places. They inspire awe and wonder in the natural world and help us understand our place within the animal kingdom. But they are places for people, made by people. Author and zoologist Jack Ashby will explore the quirks and biases we might spot in how museums talk about animals, in ways that can reflect politics as much as science. To what extent do they realistically represent nature?
