John studied economics at Cambridge University and began his career in banking and management consultancy. He completed his MBA at INSEAD in France, where he was awarded first prize. John was then diagnosed with clinical depression, which nearly proved fatal. Having tried medication and therapy, he turned to the Eastern spiritual traditions, starting with mindfulness and Transcendental Meditation. In 2014 he met his guru in India and began to explore the Vedic tradition in depth. His latest book, The Power of Letting Go, provides a simple and very effective way for anyone to move forward in any area in which they feel stuck. John is a partner with August Leadership, where he recruits senior executives and board members. He also invests in high-growth technology companies.
