Girton150 Founders’ Science Lecture by Professor Dame Pratibha Gai

Tue 12 March 2019

Girton College

We are proud to present five public lectures to mark 150 years of scholarship at Girton.

The Founders Science Lecture is presented by Professor Dame Pratibha Gai FREng, FRS. Chair of Electron Microscopy and Founding Co Director at The York JEOL Nanocentre, she is one of Britain’s best known physicists and the first to create a microscope capable of perceiving chemical reactions at the atomic scale. Reflecting something of her Girton heritage, she has not patented that machine, to ensure that its scientific potential is realised to the full.

Her Lecture is titled “CATCH ME IF YOU CAN! Atoms in Action for Energy, Environment and Healthcare”.

5.45pm for 6.00pm start.

All are welcome but places are limited and will be allocated on a first come first serve basis. Please complete the online booking form to reserve your place(s).
