To commemorate the 400th anniversary of William Byrd and Thomas Weelkes’ death, the Cambridge University Chamber Choir present some of their larger-scale works, together with creative responses to music from this period. Panufnik responds to Byrd’s four-part mass and Park responds to John Sheppard’s Lord’s Prayer, whilst Byrd’s Quomodo cantabimus was written after de Monte sent Super flumina babilonis to Byrd.
Cambridge University Chamber Choir offers fantastic opportunities to the University's best singers, and student conductor Harry Guthrie leads the ensemble with a fresh approach to an engaging programme.
Cost: Free admission with retiring donations gratefully received.
