Camerata Musica Cambridge: Lucas & Arthur Jussen, music for two pianos

Fri 18 October 2019

West Road Concert Hall

Mozart, Sonata in D for Two Pianos, K. 448
Schubert, Fantasie in F minor, D. 940
Stravinsky, The Rite of Spring (Version for Two Pianos, 1913)

The Dutch-born brothers, Lucas and Arthur Jussen, have established reputations as being preeminent among the finest pianists of their generation, both individually as soloists, and in the extensive repertory for piano duo.

Their talents were early recognized by Deutsche Grammophon - one of music’s most prestigious labels - which gave them an exclusive contract in 2010, when both Jussen brothers were still in their ’teens. Their debut CD of works by Beethoven received platinum status and was awarded the Edison Klassiek Publieksprijs. This has been followed by CDs of music by Schubert (which received gold status), Ravel and other French masters, and Mozart’s Concerto for Two Pianos, K. 365, with the Academy of St Martin in the Fields under the baton of Sir Neville Marriner.

Cost: £10-£35
