Our Michaelmas research seminar series, 2023 will be hosted online and in-person - please register for free attendance. A light sandwich lunch will be provided from 12:30. The location is the Shasha Suite, Woolf Building, Madingley Road, Cambridge.

On 17th October at 1pm Prof. Benjamin Doolittle will give a seminar entitled ‘Cancer, Immortality, and Christology: The Theological Resonance of Henrietta Lacks’.

A light sandwich lunch will be provided from 12:30 in the Shasha Suite, Woolf Building, Madingley Road Cambridge.

Abstract: This research seminar will examine the case of a woman diagnosed with cervical cancer, whose cancer cells continued to replicate. In what ways is she immortal? In what ways does her death save humanity? In what ways is her death unjust?
