Sun 26 March 2023
Great St.Mary's Church
Do join us for a beautiful candlelit Choral Evensong service at the University Church. A special address will be given by a keynote speaker Dr. Hannah Critchlow. Everyone, of any faith or none, is most warmly welcome to this service. While we encourage those who can to attend in person, the service will also be live-streamed – details may be found at greatstmarys.org
Dr.Critchlow is an internationally-acclaimed neuroscientist with a background in neuropsychiatry. Best known for demystifying the human brain on regular radio, TV and festival platforms.
As the University Church, Great St. Mary’s has been witnessing to Christian truth in the heart of Cambridge for over 800 years. A welcoming, inclusive, and friendly church, with a large gathered congregation of all ages, we have a particular calling as the spiritual heart of the University of Cambridge. Through music, prayer, and action, we seek to reach out beyond these walls in many ways, supporting local and international projects, and working with people of all faiths and none to bring hope and light to our world. Great St. Mary’s is renowned for its great debates across the centuries, on pressing issues of ethics, science and religion. Queen Elizabeth I, Archbishop Desmond Tutu, Erasmus of Rotterdam, and many others have addressed the University and City from the University Church.
