Curator's Tour: Casting Light on Classical Sculpture (Cambridge Festival)
Sun 28 March 2021 - Sat 3 April 2021
online
The Museum houses a rather unusual exception: instead of original statues, the Cast Gallery is packed with more than 600 historical plaster casts of Greek and Roman sculptures. But why do we have all these replicas? And how might thinking about copying help us to look differently at ancient sculpture?
The first part of the tour will be available on our Youtube channel on Sunday 28th March, after which parts of the tour will be made available on the following Wednesday and Saturday. All of the videos will be available on demand after they premiere.
Register to receive reminders of new sections of the tour being uploaded, and get a sneak peak!
This event is part of Cambridge Festival 2021 which takes place from 26 March to 4 April, with a series of free online events and activities for everyone.
