Climate Change flooding

Is the Climate Emergency a failure of inclusion?

Fri 14 October 2022

Wolfson College

Join us for a roundtable discussion which will think critically about the role of exploitation, inequality and exclusion in causing the Climate Emergency.

We pose three questions:

- What roles have exploitation, inequality and exclusion played in causing the Climate Emergency?

- What solutions of inclusion are there to increase Climate action and progress?

- What are the best ways academic institutions such as Wolfson can contribute to these solutions?

Our aim is to provide thought leadership on how accessibility of climate knowledge, action and community could all be improved.

Keynote speaker: Jasbir Basi (ex-UK Cabinet Office, now Senior Associate for Energy at Global Counsel)

Chair: Rita Payne (President Emeritus of the Commonwealth Journalists Association)

Panellists: Florence Nabwire (Prince of Wales Fellow in Public Health Nutrition in Sub-Saharan Africa), Karen Alvarenga (Head of Regulatory Affairs and Global Strategy for Givaudan), two more panellists TBA

Cost: Free
