Catherine Chanter: Winner of the Lucy Cavendish Fiction Prize 2013

Thu 21 February 2019

Lucy Cavendish College

Join us for a talk and Q&A with Catherine Chanter, the 2013 winner of the Lucy Cavendish Fiction Prize.

As well as winning the 2013 Fiction Prize, Catherine's first novel The Well was a Richard and Judy Book Club Pick in autumn 2015. It was also longlisted for the CWA John Creasy (New Blood) Dagger Award in 2015. The Well was published in the UK by Canongate, and has been translated into twelve languages.

Catherine's acclaimed second novel, The Half Sister, was published in 2018. The Guardian described it as "a gripping family tragedy. Filled with the acute psychological insights that distinguished the author's debut The Well... Chanter's gift for depicting emotional upheaval pervades this tale of crumbling families."
