Trust & Technology Initiative Launch
Thu 20 September 2018
Robinson College
We are increasingly dependent on digital and internet technologies which pervade society and questions of power, trust, and distrust of technology are more important than ever. Be part of this important conversation with the Cambridge Trust & Technology Initiative at Robinson College on September 20th, from 2pm to 8pm.
The Trust & Technology Initiative brings together and drives forward interdisciplinary research from Cambridge and beyond to explore the dynamics of trust and distrust in relation to internet technologies, society and power; to better inform trustworthy design and governance of next generation tech at the research and development stage; and to promote informed, critical, and engaging voices supporting individuals, communities and institutions. We're excited to have you involved.
Alongside high profile Cambridge academics, other confirmed speakers include Malavika Jayaram (Berkman Klein Center for Internet & Society, Harvard University), Danny Sriskandarajah (Secretary General, CIVICUS), Nigel Houlden (Head of Technology Policy, Information Commissioner’s Office).
We’ll also have opportunities for networking with figures from industry and academia and short talks from some of the best up-and-coming researchers from Cambridge, followed by a drinks reception.
This event is open to the public, but if you would like to attend then please register (registration closes September 5th)
