The Committee of Management invites applications for grants and scholarships from the Thomas Mulvey Egyptology Fund. Scholarships and grants will be made to assist persons carrying out or wishing to carry out fieldwork or research in Egyptology. New applicants to the Department of Archaeology undertaking an M.Phil. or Ph.D. in Egyptology in 2024–25 will automatically be considered.
Applications, giving information about the research or fieldwork which applicants are carrying out or wish to carry out, should be sent to administrator@arch.cam.ac.uk by 30 April 2025. It would be helpful if applications could include a statement of the approximate sum requested and give details of any assistance promised from other sources. The application form is available at https://www.arch.cam.ac.uk/system/files/mulvey_application_form_updated.pdf (University account required). Successful applicants will be notified by 31 May 2025.
Applications are invited for the Anthony Wilkin Studentship in Ethnology and Archaeology and for grants from the Anthony Wilkin Fund. The Fund is devoted to the encouragement of research in Ethnology and Archaeology.
Applications should be submitted to the Secretary of the Faculty Board of Human, Social, and Political Science using the online form available from https://www.arch.cam.ac.uk/prospective-students/graduate-funding to arrive no later than 5 p.m. on 31 May 2025. Letters of reference (two for the Studentship, one for the grant) should be uploaded to the application form and submitted at the same time. The value of individual awards, including both grants and the Studentship, will be decided by the Management Committee after reviewing all applications.
Applications are invited for the Dorothy Garrod Memorial Trust Fund. The Trust makes grants to young archaeologists intending to carry out archaeological fieldwork abroad during the Long Vacation in 2025. Applications for fieldwork within the UK are not eligible. Applications should be made via the online form, available at https://www.arch.cam.ac.uk/prospective-students/graduate-funding. The deadline for applications is 5 p.m. on 31 May 2025. Applications cannot be made retrospectively.
