The Council submits the following Grace to the Regent House. This Grace, unless it is withdrawn or a ballot is requested in accordance with the regulations for Graces of the Regent House (Statutes and Ordinances, p. 112), will be deemed to have been approved at 4 p.m. on Friday, 4 October 2024. Further information on requests for a ballot or the amendment of Graces is available to members of the Regent House on the Regent House Petitions site.§
1. That the Professorship of Musical Performance Studies (Statutes and Ordinances, p. 727) be retitled the Professorship of Music.1
1The Council, on the recommendation of the General Board, the Council of the School of Arts and Humanities and the Faculty Board of Music, and with the support of the current holder of the Professorship, is proposing this change to the naming of the Professorship to align the title of the office with the officeholder’s broad research activities and achievements as well as the officeholder’s original intentions.
