The Vice-Chancellor gives notice that the Ramsden Preacher appointed for 11.30 a.m. on Sunday, 26 May 2024, The Rt Revd Dr Paul Swarup, of Clare College, Bishop of Delhi, is no longer able to preach on this day as planned. On the advice of the Select Preachers Syndics, The Revd Dr James Gardom, Fellow, Dean and Chaplain of Pembroke College, Affiliated Lecturer in World Christianities in the Faculty of Divinity, and Interim Priest‑in‑Charge of St Bene’t’s Church, Cambridge, has been appointed to preach in place of Dr Swarup.
The Council gives notice that, after consultation with the General Board and on the recommendation of the Nominating Committee for the Office of Pro-Vice-Chancellor,1 it has agreed to reappoint Professor Kamal Munir, HO, as Pro-Vice-Chancellor (University Community and Engagement) for a second term of three years from 1 October 2024.
1The Nominating Committee comprised the Vice-Chancellor as Chair; Ms Gaenor Bagley, Baroness Morgan of Huyton and Professor Jason Scott-Warren (members of the Council); and Professor Tim Harper and Professor Nigel Peake (members of the General Board).
The Council and the General Board have approved a minor change to the Recruitment Incentive Payment eligibility criteria.1 Under the revised requirements, employees must now have at least a one-year contract of employment, instead of at least a three-year contract of employment.
