Annual Reports of the Council and the General Board

Under the terms of Statute A IV 1(c) (Statutes and Ordinances, p. 6), the Council is required to make an Annual Report to the Regent House, giving an account of its conduct of affairs during the past academic year; the General Board is required under Statute A V 1(a) (Statutes and Ordinances, p. 7) to make a similar Report to the Council. The Council’s Annual Report for the academic year 2017–18 is published below together with the General Board’s Report. The two Reports, together with the University’s Reports and Financial Statements for the year ended 31 July 2018 (which are also published in this issue), will be brought forward for consideration at the Discussion to be held on 22 January 2019.

Remuneration report

The Council expects to publish on 9 January 2019 a remuneration report setting out the principles behind the University’s approach to the remuneration of its staff, in line with the guidance provided by the Committee of University Chairs and the Office for Students, which will also provide remuneration data to accompany that provided in the Notes to the Accounts section of the Financial Statements (p. 234).
