Dorothy Garrod Memorial Trust

Applications are invited for the Dorothy Garrod Memorial Trust Fund. The Trust makes grants to young archaeologists intending to carry out fieldwork abroad during the Long Vacation in 2017. Applications for fieldwork within the UK are not eligible.

Applications, giving details of proposed fieldwork and costs, should be made in writing to the Trustees, c/o Graduate Administrator, Division of Archaeology, University of Cambridge, Downing Street, Cambridge, CB2 3DZ; or sent as an attachment via email to graduate-secretary@arch.cam.ac.uk.

The deadline for applications is 31 May 2017. The exact value of the awards will be calculated following assessment of all eligible applications.

Rollo Davidson Trust

The Rollo Davidson Trustees have pleasure in announcing the award of the 2017 Rollo Davidson Prize jointly to:

Jian Ding, University of Chicago, for his achivements on mixing and cover times and on the random k-SAT conjecture; and to

Nike Sun, University of California at Berkeley, for her achievements in probability theory and specifically on the random k-SAT conjecture.
