Dame Margaret Joan Anstee, DCMG, M.A., (Hon.)LL.D., Honorary Fellow of Newnham College, Under-Secretary-General of the United Nations 1987–93, died 25 August 2016, aged 90 years.

Felicity Jane Fisher-Hunt, M.A., of Selwyn College, Assistant Registrary in the Academic Division, Administrator of the Faculty of Human, Social, and Political Science and the Department of Archaeology and Anthropology and formerly of the Faculties of Classics, Modern and Medieval Languages, and Oriental Studies, died on 28 August 2016, aged 50 years.

Professor Jonathan Simon Christopher Riley-Smith, M.A., Ph.D., Litt.D., FRHistS, Fellow of Emmanuel College 1994–2005, of Queens’ College 1972–78, Member of Trinity College, Emeritus Dixie Professor of Ecclesiastical History, died on 13 September 2016, aged 78 years (see also p. 10).

Peter Gonville Stein QC (honoris causa), JP, M.A., LL.B., Ph.D. (Aberdeen), FBA, Life Fellow of Queens’ College (Vice-President 1974–81) and Honorary Fellow of Gonville and Caius College, Emeritus Regius Professor of Civil Law, died on 7 August 2016, aged 90 years.
