Notice of a Discussion on 12 May 2015

The Vice-Chancellor invites those qualified under the regulations for Discussions (Statutes and Ordinances, p. 111) to attend a Discussion in the Senate-House, on Tuesday, 12 May 2015, at 2 p.m. for the discussion of:

1. Joint Report of the Council and the General Board, dated 20 April and 11 March 2015, on arrangements for the management and governance of scientific research using animals (Reporter, 6383, 2014–15, p. 492).

2. Joint Report of the Council and the General Board, dated 20 April and 17 April 2015, on proposed amendments to the process for appeal under the Schedule to Statute C in the case of non-confirmation of appointment (Reporter, 6383, 2014–15, p. 493).

3. Report of the Council, dated 20 April 2015, on human resources and remuneration arrangements for the Investment Office (Reporter, 6383, 2014–15, p. 496).

Amending Statutes for Wolfson College

30 April 2015

The Vice-Chancellor gives notice that he has received from the Governing Body of Wolfson College, in accordance with the provisions of Section 7(2) of the Universities of Oxford and Cambridge Act 1923, the text of a proposed Statute to amend the Statutes of the College. The current Statutes of the College showing the proposed amendments are available on the College’s website: http://www2.wolfson.cam.ac.uk/files/Wolfson-Statutes-revision-8-10-2014-as-agreed-at-GB.pdf.

Paper copies may be inspected at the University Offices until 10 a.m. on 15 May 2015.

Notice of benefactions

The Vice-Chancellor gives notice that he has accepted with gratitude the following benefactions, of which both the capital and the income may be used:

(i)a benefaction of US$220,000 from Microsoft Corporation to support the work of the Microsoft Cloud Computing Research Centre, which is a collaboration between the University’s Computer Laboratory and the Cloud Legal Project at Queen Mary University of London;

(ii)a philanthropic grant of £50,000 from the Arcadia Fund to support open access initiatives at the University Library;

(iii)an anonymous benefaction of £50,000 pledged under the Gift Aid Scheme to support the construction and fit-out of squash courts at the University Sports Centre, bringing to a total of £170,000 the amount given towards the Sport Centre by the same donor.
