The text of the Instrument of Election which was sealed in the presence of the Vice-Chancellor and the Registrary and delivered to the Chancellor on 17 October 2011 is printed under Acta (see p. 76).
The Vice-Chancellor gives notice that he has received the following nomination for election to the Council in class (a) (Heads of Colleges) to fill the vacancy created by the resignation of the Master of Trinity Hall (see Reporter, 2011–12, p. 6), and that it has been certified to him that the candidate has consented to be nominated:
Professor David Yates, Warden of Robinson College, is nominated by the Master of Trinity Hall and seconded by the Master of Fitzwilliam College.
No other candidate having been nominated, the Vice-Chancellor declares that Professor Yates is elected to serve as a member of the Council until 31 December 2012, and that the election previously announced will not now take place.
