Christ’s College

SACKLER RESEARCH FELLOWSHIP (NON-STIPENDIARY)

Christ’s College, Cambridge invites applications for a non-stipendiary Sackler Research Fellowship tenable from not later than 1 October 2010. The Fellowship is tenable for a period of up to four years and must be held concurrently with a post-doctoral appointment in the University of Cambridge, working in Chemistry, Engineering, Mathematics, or Statistics.

Preference may be given to candidates who are willing to undertake up to four hours of teaching a week for the College. The appointment is intended to give the successful applicant the opportunity to participate in collegiate life, to the mutual benefit of the individual and the College, with the aim of enhancing the individual’s prospects of appointment to an established academic position. The Fellow will be a member of the Governing Body, eligible to sit on College committees, with the full privileges of a Fellow. Fellows are entitled to seven free meals a week in College. Payment for any teaching undertaken will be at the normal College supervision rates.

Completed application forms should be emailed to the Master’s Assistant at masters-assistant@christs.cam.ac.uk so as to arrive no later than noon on Friday, 29 January 2010. Applicants should arrange for two referees’ reports to be emailed to masters-assistant@christs.cam.ac.uk by this date for the application to be valid.

Clare Hall

RESEARCH FELLOWSHIPS IN THE ARTS AND SOCIAL SCIENCES

The Governing Body of Clare Hall proposes to elect two or more non-stipendiary Research Fellows in the Arts and Social Sciences for a period of three years starting from October 2010. These Fellowships are normally for applicants who have recently finished their Ph.D. Degree. Applicants who have previously held College Research Fellowships in Oxford or Cambridge are not eligible. Non-stipendiary Research Fellows will be expected to demonstrate that they have adequate financial support throughout the period of the Fellowship.

The closing date for the receipt of applications and references is Friday, 29 January 2010.

Candidates are responsible for seeing that all application papers and references reach the College by this date.
