Reader in Human Resources and Organizational Behaviour in Judge Business School

Due to the growing success of Judge Business School, the School is looking to recruit a Reader in Human Resources and Organizational Behaviour. The salary will be £52,628 a year.

Successful candidates will have an established publications record in the leading international journals such as ASQ, AMJ, and Organization Science, and demonstrate capacity for intellectual leadership and originality based on clear evidence of intellectual excellence, including a Ph.D. Degree in a relevant subject.

Experience of teaching at undergraduate, postgraduate or post-experience levels is essential.

University Lecturers (three posts) in the Faculty of Education

The Faculty of Education is seeking to appoint three innovative, research-active Lecturers to join this leading international centre of educational research and teacher development. The posts are in the following areas: Inclusive and Special Education (one post); Psychology and Education (with a specialism in Cognitive/Biological Psychology); and Developmental Psychology (fixed-term post available until 30 September 2011).

Successful candidates will be required to make a significant contribution to the Faculty's teaching and research. The Faculty is committed to the highest standards of research and teaching and is a significant contributor to the improvement of educational policy and practice in partnership with schools and other educational agencies both in the UK and internationally. The salary will be in the range of £36,532 to £46,278 a year.

It is anticipated that successful candidates will take up appointment on 1 October 2009.

Departmental Administrator (Administrative Officer) in the Academic Division

The post-holder will serve as administrator of the Department of Land Economy, where, as a member of the management team, he or she will oversee the administrative support of the Department and help implement policies to manage effectively its resources for research and teaching. The salary will be in the range of £32,458 to £43,622 a year.

Applicants should be educated to degree level or equivalent and have relevant administrative experience, including proven ability in managing resources and staff, preferably gained in a higher education establishment.

Senior Database Administrator in the Management Information Services Division

A vacancy exists for an Application/Oracle Database Administrator in the Management Information Services Division of the University Offices, to take up appointment as soon as possible. The salary will be in the range of £36,532 to £46,278 a year.

The Division hosts and supports the computing needs of major University business applications (Finance, Student Records, Human Resources, Payroll, Pensions, Grants, and Estate Management), web, and the desktop services to approximately 1,000 user workstations of the Unified Administrative Service (UAS). The majority of supported applications utilize an Oracle 10g/11i database running on Sun Solaris or Linux x86 servers.

The post-holder will be expected to perform all aspects of Oracle Database and Application Administration in these environments, working closely with server administration and support staff, and liaising with application software providers and other third parties. Candidates should be educated to degree level or equivalent with experience of supporting Oracle based enterprise applications on a Unix platform. The post-holder will be familiar with security issues, backup, recovery, installation, upgrading, patching, and problem resolution. Operational support of a major ERP application would be advantageous, especially Oracle eBusiness suite, Peoplesoft, Cognos or Midland Trent.
