Historical Tripos, Part I, 2006: Notice

The Faculty Board of History give notice that they have amended their announcement of Variable Subjects in respect of options (ii), (iv), and (v) of Paper 25 of Part I of the Historical Tripos, 2006, (Statutes and Ordinances, p. 295, Reporter, p. 40) as follows:

From:

(i) History by numbers: an introduction to quantitative methods in modern economic history
(ii) Italian identities and the art of self-fashioning: from the Renaissance to Risorgimento
(iii) France: the nation and its past: from the Trojans to De Gaulle
(iv) Civil rights in modern Germany
(v) Greek historiography from Herodutus to the fall of Constantinople
(vi) Latin biography and autobiography

To:

(i) History by numbers: an introduction to quantitative methods in modern economic history
(ii) Italian identities and the art of self-fashioning: from Renaissance to Risorgimento
(iii) France: the nation and its past: from the Trojans to De Gaulle
(iv) The historical turn in German thought
(v) No subject specified
(vi) Latin biography and autobiography

Candidates for Part I in 2006 may meet the requirement to take a pre-1750 paper in Part II (Statutes and Ordinances, pp. 295-98) by offering options (ii) and (vi).

Candidates for Part I in 2006 may meet the requirement to take a post-1750 paper in Part II (Statutes and Ordinances, pp. 295-98) by offering options (i) and (iv).

Candidates for Part I in 2006 may meet the requirement to take a European History paper in Part II (Statutes and Ordinances, pp. 295-298) by offering options (iii), (iv) and (vi).

The Faculty Board are satisfied that no candidate's preparation for the examination in 2006 will be adversely affected by these amendments.
