Assistant Treasurer (Head of Purchasing) in the Finance Division of the University Offices

Assistant Treasurer to take up post in the Finance Division of the University Offices. The post-holder will be responsible for shaping and implementing the University's purchasing strategy and taking forward procurement issues within the University. This will include providing guidance and support to senior academics and managers in addition to managing and motivating the purchasing team. The post-holder will also need to be forward thinking and aware of opportunities for applying technology to procurement.

The successful applicant will have substantial experience in procurement, ideally including public sector experience and working in a devolved budget environment. He/she will be fully CIPS qualified or equivalent, and will have excellent interpersonal, influencing, and communication ability, as well as proven management skills. Strong analytical skills, self-motivation, and an ability to prioritize and work to tight deadlines are essential. The pensionable scale of stipends for an Assistant Treasurer is £23,296 to £35,950 a year.
