This year's Tanner lectures will be given by Neil MacGregor, Director of the British Museum. The title of his lectures is The meanings of things. The first lecture is at 5 p.m. on Monday, 16 February, in the Babbage Theatre, New Museums Site. The second lecture is at 4 p.m. on Tuesday, 17 February, in the Babbage Theatre, followed by a short break. The third lecture will start at 5.45 p.m. Please arrive early to secure a seat.
On 18 February there will be an all-day seminar at Robinson College in which four respondents to Neil MacGregor's lectures will discuss various themes and issues raised. This event must be booked as space is limited. Please e-mail ih215@cam.ac.uk or telephone 01223 332368 to book a free place. The seminar starts at 10 a.m. and finishes at 4 p.m.
